LITTLE RIVER MEDICAL CENTER, 3817 Main Street, LORIS, SC News Release and Open House Information: ![]() LITTLE RIVER MEDICAL CENTER, 3817 Main Street, LORIS, SC News Release and Open House Information: Local Medical Facility Addition Renovation utilizes Green and Sustainable Strategies Renovations and Additions accomplished in 11 weeks g DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION FEATURES: g Area Summary Existing renovated area: 2548SF New Addition: 1960SF Total facility 4508SF g Site - 22 on site parking spaces - 10% ADA accessible parking, ADA Accessibility from Main street and on from site parking. - Parking spaces for a dental and a medical van with electrical connections - Future parking spaces for Low Emitting and Fuel Efficient Vehicles - Future Preferred parking spaces for Car pools and Van pool vehicle parking - Access for emergency vehicles g Building - 3 medical provider stations offices: including 2 medical work areas and 2 medical offices - 3 provider suites, 9 exam rooms, with 1 suite focusing on pediatric care - 1 mental health counseling office - 2 nurse stations -1 dental office - 1 x-ray treatment office - Separate confidential waste area and biohazard areas - 1 medical lab and triage area.

g GREEN AND SUSTAINABLE POTENTIAL STRATEGIES UTILIZED g SUSTAINABLE SITES strategies include: - Use of Existing Bank Site and Existing Building, - Access to Alternative Transportation - Public Transportation, - Planned Bicycle Storage - Future Low-Emitting and Fuel-Efficient Vehicles Parking and access, - Heat Island Effect, 100% highly reflective (.78 SRI) roof surface, - Storm water quantity and quality control, Surface absorption - Maximized open space requirements g WATER EFFICIENCY strategies include: - Water Efficient Landscaping: - Saved native trees, two pecan trees with diameters of over 36 inches each, 24 inch and 12 pine trees, and 4 dogwood trees on a ½ acre urban site. - Used native varieties of landscaping with low irrigation requirements. g ENERGY AND ATMOSPHERE ENERGY strategies include: - Used energy efficient fluorescent fixtures -Used water efficient plumbing fixtures - Re-used 2 existing HVAC units. Incorporated new HVAC air handling system and ductwork within the building thermal insulation conditioned or tempered envelope. g MATERIALS AND RESOURCES strategies include: - Building Reuse - Maintained Existing structural Walls, Floors and Roof Deck. - Reclaimed old brick on infill panels. - New addition incorporated reclaimed brick recovered within 300 miles of site. g INDOOR AIR QUALITY strategies include: - Environmental Tobacco Smoke Control: Non Smoking campus, - Construction Indoor Air Quality Management Plan during Construction- natural cross ventilation - Controllability of Systems - Task lighting at nurse and doctor work stations. - Natural Lighting, Day lighting and views. 84% of all rooms have access to natural day lighting and views g CONSTRUCTION FEATURES - Completed for substantial completion occupancy within 11 weeks from start of construction
